Ruth and Naomi
(Theme: Response to Selfishness – Generosity)
Don (D); puppet - Ronnie (R)
From a junior school chapel service

D.         Hi there Ronnie!  How was your first week at PLC? ( Puppet Learning Centre)
R.         Great Mr S. We had a special leader’s award thing. I think it was called a puppet parade. I got my new leader’s badge – Captain of Plants – Coat of Palms or something.
D.         That’s great!
R.         What’s happening here this morning?
D.         Well we’re hearing a Bible Story and thinking about Ruth and Naomi. Two ladies from a very long time ago.
R.         Are they the ones who went on a long journey?
D.         That’s right and they eventually met a man called Boaz who was very caring and generous. God helps them. Boaz ends up marrying Ruth and looking after Namoi as well in her old age.
R.         A bit like me Mr S.  I look after you in your…
D.         dreams. So being generous and helping others is really important.
R.         …with your money and talents
D.         and time.
R.  Sharing stuff… even toys… or puppets..You’re not going to lend me out are you? Are you?
D. Well maybe... No Ronnie, I could never do that. I’ve grown so attached to you.
R. I’ve got to go Mr S it’s nearly PE and I think we’re playing cricket ( baseball). Last week our sports teacher asked us how to hold a bat and I answered by the wings.
