Hannah’s Prayer (1 Samuel 1)
Don (D); Ronnie (R)puppet D. Hi Ronnie. What’s been happening? R. Hi Mr S. I’ve been thinking… D. Well that’s interesting. R. I wonder what it’s like to hear voices in your head. I hear you say.. D. Are you hearing voices? R. No. I was just thinking about it and got side-swiped. D. I think you mean ''side-tracked''. R. Yes. I was going to be thinking about lunch. D. Well we’re thinking about a story from the Bible about a lady called Hannah. R. Montana? D. No not Montana… Hannah. R. Hannah Montana … lived in Rosanna (or born in Havana) D. No she didn’t. Hannah was the wife of a guy called v Elkanah and lived a long time ago. R. What happened to her? D. I’m glad you asked. R. I just heard something in my head saying… D. Hannah desperately wanted to have a baby but she hadn’t been able to and Hannah prayed a special prayer to God and she was blessed with a son called Samuel – which means ‘God hears’. R. Well Hannah must have been stoked to have a little baby. D. She was so thankful that she wanted her son to grow up serving God and helping people in the temple. R. Did he like to sing a lot? D.
